Hello, Esperanza Lutheran Church!
I’m excited to be beginning my ministry with you as your interim pastor. In case you’re not familiar with that term, an interim pastor takes on all the responsibilities of a “regular” pastor and also supports the congregation’s work of self-study and preparation to call its next pastor.
This can be an exciting time of special openness to the movement of God’s Spirit. And, while patient listening and discernment can be a challenge for those of us who live our lives in constant motion, this is a chance for us to slow down, trust the Spirit and each other, and let God be our guide.
While all that’s going on, we’ll continue to reach out with the gospel, gather together in worship, love and care for each other, grow in faith and understanding, and serve our neighbors in need.
And when this transitional period is complete, Esperanza Church will be ready to move into a new future with energy and enthusiasm.
