A memorial service to celebrate the life of Heidi Marie Gerrish is this Saturday, July 30, at 10:30 a.m. at Mountain View Lutheran Church, 11002 S. 48th St, in Phoenix, AZ 85044.. Read more about Heidi here. Mountain View Lutheran will livestream the service for those who are unable to attend in person. The video will be available for viewing in the days after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest, 2502 E. University Drive, Suite 125, Phoenix, AZ 85034, in Heidi’s honor.
Attendance is expected to be large, so if you can, please carpool to Mountain View. In addition to the church parking lot, East Cheyenne Drive (the street that borders the campus to the north) may also be used for overflow parking on both sides in designated parking areas. You may also park in the shopping center lot immediately to the north.
A reception of finger foods will be provided in the gymnasium across from the sanctuary following the service.
How you may help
You may make a donation to help pay for the sandwiches, etc. that are being purchased for the reception. Contact the church office at 480-759-1515 or by email at [email protected].
If you would like to cook or donate food, please be sure to let Joni know what you are bringing and how many it will serve. Please think in terms of finger foods: vegetable and fruit trays, cheese and crackers, buffet sandwiches, cookies, etc. Bring your dish to Mountain View on Friday, June 29th from 9 a.m. to noon. Deacon Connie will be there to receive it. Enter the gym through the door on the west side of the building (see map). We will have seating for 220 and small plates and forks will be provided.
Hot foods in crock pots are also welcome. Bring those foods to the west door of the Mountain View gym before the service on Saturday. Someone will be there starting at 9:00 a.m. to receive your crock pot and plug it in.
