Rock on! Come to Habitat House on Saturday to spread joy (and decomposed granite)!

For all of you that were disappointed that you missed shoveling rock last weekend, take heart!

We saved this task for this Saturday (2/26/22)! It’s going to be so wonderful to see you there bright and early at 7:30 a.m. to help us out. Friendly hint: Stretch for a half hour at home before you head over!

Oh, come on! It will be good for you! And it will be even better for our mission to provide a deserving family with a new home.

In the past, we have completed planting the shrubs and trees, running the irrigation lines and shoveling the rock all in one day.

This year, due to new requirements, we had enough time only to plant the trees and shrubs and run the irrigation lines.

We had to run PVC irrigation lines and special drip systems – RWS (root watering system) rather than the typical black tubing. Although running this type of irrigation line was new to most of us, the crew of about 15 did an outstanding job!

The rock is being delivered this week so we will be finishing that task this Saturday! And we need you!

Once this is done, the Jamma family will have a wonderful frontyard complete with trees and shrubs.

While I’m sure that all of you can’t wait to shovel and rake rock, we will have other tasks that will need to be completed, as well.

Please join us this coming Saturday at the Jamma house, 677 W. 19th Street, Tempe.
