Esperanza is taking the lead in organizing the Ahwatukee Foothills CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, Nov. 13, at Desert Foothills Park at 2:30pm.
This fundraising event supports the global mission of Church World Services, a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster.
Seventy-five percent of the money will be used internationally and 25 percent will be donated to a local food bank, to be named.
Our intent is to invite all places of worship in the Ahwatukee Foothills community to participate in the walk.
To plan and implement this event, we are forming a Walk Committee. Thank you to Beth Leaf, Craig Peck, Michelle Tinsley, Peggy Hanson and Randy Wright for volunteering to serve on the Committee. We are still looking for committee members to assist with education, logistics and safety, and publicity.
Also, thank you to Ray Palomaa for volunteering to serve as Esperanza’s team captain for the walk.
If you are interested in serving on the Walk Committee or have questions, please contact Peggy or Larry Hanson
(Email to: [email protected]), or the office.
