HUNGER MINISTRY: Come help us at Feed My Starving Children meal packing Oct. 15

As a Christian nonprofit organization, Feed My Starving Children is called to feed God’s starving children who are hungry in body and spirit.

According to FMSC’s website, every year, millions of children die from preventable causes, such as pneumonia, diarrhea, malaria and undernutrition. Hunger is still causing nearly half of deaths in children 5 years and younger. From this data, we estimate that at least 6,200 children die each day from causes related to undernutrition. This is heartbreaking.

Through mid-August 2022, FMSC has sent meals to 55 countries, including 2.7 million meals to Ukraine.

FMSC needs help packing meals.  A work session for Esperanza is 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15.

This is a great opportunity for our youth to get involved in responding to a global need. Youth 5 and older can participate with an adult.  FMSC’s Phoenix metro packing location is 1345 S. Alma School Drive in Mesa, 85210.

FMSC also would appreciate a donation (the day of the event would be fine) to help purchase meal ingredients.

If you would like to carpool or have questions, please contact Larry or Peggy Hanson or the church office at 480-759-1515.  There will be a sign-up sheet in the Narthex starting in September.
