From early June to late August, Grace Lutheran Church in downtown Phoenix opens its campus to homeless people Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This ministry provides them a safe environment to escape the heat. Breakfast, lunch and limited social-service support is provided.
On July 13 and 20, and August 17, Esperanza will prepare and deliver lunch for as many as 100 people. More details will be available in June.
Your help is needed. There will be sign-up sheet in the Narthex starting in June.
We also will need to raise some funding to help cover the cost of purchasing supplies to make the lunches. If you can provide a donation, please put it in a plain envelope labeled “Hunger Ministry” with your name on it and place it in the offering or deliver it to the church office.
