A close up of food

Family Promise is back and we need volunteers to provide June 2 dinner!

Esperanza will assist St. Benedict’s Catholic Church by hosting a dinner for Family Promise on Thursday, June 2.

We’ll serve these families at Desert Foothills United Methodist Church, 2156 E. Liberty Lane, which is just west of 24th Street, and we’re looking for volunteers to provide one course (main dish, salad/side dish, bread, dessert and drinks).

If you would like to help, please contact Donna Sparber at 480-205-4143 or [email protected].  Donna will provide information on how many servings will be needed and if there are any dietary restrictions or food allergies.

If you volunteer to provide the main dish, please let us know what you will be bringing. We try to avoid having the same main dish two nights in a row.  Food must be delivered to Desert Foothills UMC by 5:30 p.m..

The families will stay overnight at the church. Rick and Donna Sparber will be the overnight hosts.

Thirty-two 32 greater Phoenix congregations support this mission by hosting transitioning families with children for the evening meal and overnight accommodations.  St. Benedict’s is among them.

It’s been a while since Esperanza participated. St. John Bosco, where we always had hosted the families, is not available.

The mission of Family Promise is “providing emergency shelter and social services to help families move toward independent housing and self sufficiency.”
