Seventeen Esperanza volunteers prepared 228 sack lunches for the homeless on July 26 and Aug. 2 and delivered the lunches to Grace Lutheran Church in downtown Phoenix.
From early June to late August, Grace Lutheran opens its campus to the homeless on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This provides a safe environment to escape the summer heat. Breakfast, lunch, and limited social support services are provided.
