Dedication of Habitat House Saturday was true blessing!

We were very excited that about 35 people attended the dedication last Saturday of the Jama family home in Tempe, which was our Habitat project for the past several months.

This was the first time that many family members had seen the house and they, too, were VERY excited.

During the program, the family (mom and dad) spoke about how much they were looking forward to their new home and how thankful they are for everyone’s involvement and participation in building of their home.

A group of people posing for the cameraPastor Annemarie led the blessing of the home and family. Gifts were presented and then it was time for everyone to enjoy food provided by the family, followed by tours of the house and catching up with old friends.

There remain a few minor tasks to be completed before they’re able to move in, so we will be working next Saturday.  Tasks will include hooking up the dishwasher, installing countertops and back splashes in the bathrooms and a number of paint touch-up spots.

Thanks again to all of you for your support throughout this build process.  Your support might have taken many forms, from helping with building, serving meals, financial support, spiritual support (prayers) and continued encouragement.  Regardless of how you supported this project  it was very much appreciated.

While we don’t have any information as of yet, we’re looking forward to building our 27th Habitat home next year.

Thanks again for all of your support and assistance throughout the past six months of this home build.
