After decades of good service, the land line telephones at Esperanza have been replaced!
In attempting to fix a problem with one of the phones, we learned that the phones were old enough that the parts to fix them were no longer sold (the phones weren’t quite as old as the above image depicts…but close). While we had initially leased the phones from a (wonderful) local service provider, the phones were old enough that, when it came time to replace them, the local service provider was no longer charging us for their use and did not require the phones back. In other words, the phones had a good, long run!
As is now common for businesses, the council opted for Voiceover IP phone service, basically, phone service that runs over the internet. Cables were run throughout our buildings to accommodate this service and new phones from Nextiva, also a local company, set up in the following spots: 1) Parish Administrator’s Desk 2) Pastor’s Desk 3) Family Ministry Coordinator’s Desk 4) Preschool Director’s Desk 5) 2 Year Old Preschool Classroom 6) Music Room 7) Kitchen. Our service is also through Nextiva which means that we no longer receive phone service from Cox, only internet service. Through this process, the congregation has a monthly cost savings!
On the off chance you need to use the new phones to place a call, simply dial the number with the area code and press the button with the check mark on it.
The staff have been pleased with the new phones, the options, and the ease they provide. And rest assured, Esperanza’s phone number remains the same: 480-759-1515. Special thanks to Pastor Sarah for shephering the process and for Joni Thorpe with her help in this transition.
