It’s time for us to think about what we’d like to provide for our next VA Healthcare Worker Meal.
The meal should be delivered to the church on Monday, February 28, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and delivered to the VA on Tuesday, March 1.
We’re planning soups, sandwiches and salads this go round.
Some ideas:
- Soups with meat.
- Vegetarian soups.
- Lunch meat – turkey, ham, roast beef.
- Condiments (mayonnaise and mustard).
- Cheese (for sandwiches).
- Salads – green, potato, macaroni, pasta.
- Desserts – cookies, brownies, cupcakes.
- Snacks – chips.
- Fresh fruit.
- Chopped vegetables.
- Drinks – water, soda, flavored drinks.
TEAM B is up this next week:
- Liz Farquhar.
- Susan Brown.
- Larry and Peggy Hanson.
- Julie Valenzuela.
- Jane Gisselquist.
- Doris Dorwart.
- Michelle Tinsley.
- Joyce Purdy.
We’ll always take extra if folks from TEAM A who might want to contribute!
We’re planning for about 25 people, but it is not necessary to cook/provide for all.
I have plates, bowls, cups, and some utensils (will purchase spoons). There are also a ton of containers that I keep forgetting to tell everyone about! They are in the church kitchen in the lower cupboard to the left of the sink as you face it. Please feel free to help yourself to any items you need for our cause!
I will be able to help out for this meal but will likely be turning over the organizing of some of our future meals to my faithful and trusty sidekick, Liz.
Let me know what you would like to contribute and I will keep track!
