In April, when the pandemic forced us to discontinue in-person worship and other activities, the council voted to terminate professional cleaning and landscaping services. The money we saved helped us keep afloat financially.
Our church is really a family, so family members took up the slack. Denzil Klein and Randy Wright, who have been our official/unofficial maintenance folks for years, have continued to take care of the family home, keeping a watchful eye on grounds and systems, mowing the grass and more. Volunteers met on two Saturdays this spring to do some of the heavy seasonal work. And an anonymous donor paid to have the trees trimmed. (The preschool pays to clean its area and bathrooms)
But we need more helping hands!
In a family, everyone pitches in to get things done. Can you help? Please look through this list and find something that fits your skills. Help us keep our church in good shape while the family is away.
Grounds Crew
Need a volunteer round-robin crew to cut grass, trim bushes and trees, rake and sweep up the grounds. We also need assistance replacing plants, trees and shrubs.

Website Updates & Technology
Assist the Council with communications, website updates, social media and mailings. Anyone with experience in either WordPress or other website systems is welcomed today! In 2021, Esperanza will move to a new and improved member database. We are seeking volunteers to help with the data migration, configuration and go-live of the system.

Newsletter
Editor Liz Farquhar is looking for an assistant who can fill in occasionally when she is away on newsletter publication days. She’s looking for someone with good writing skills. She will train that person on the very user-friendly Constant Contact tools.
