Take the Lenten Challenge to Address World Hunger

About 11% of the world’s population is hungry. In honor of ELCA World Hunger’s 50th year in mission and ministry, the five synods in Region 2 are challenging one another to raise money for ELCA World Hunger.

The synods are Grand Canyon (ours), Rocky Mountain, Pacifica, Southwest California, and Sierra Pacific. The challenge involves participating in spiritual and physical practices during the 40 days of Lent.

The intent is to consider the following four Lenten practices and commit to three:

  • Daily Devotion: Subscribe to receive daily email devotions for Lent.
  • Daily Discipline: Do one wellness activity every day.
  • Daily Declutter: Once a day, find a way to declutter, destress, and retune.
  • Daily Donation: Pledge to give $1 a day or more.
