Street Cleanup Crew Collects 25 Pounds of Trash

Many thanks to those who battled the Phoenix heat and joined us on Saturday, Sept. 7, for our third Adopt-a-Street cleanup! A special shout-out goes to Scout Troop #3014!

We collected approximately 25 pounds (seven bags) of trash. Larry Hanson won a prize for the most unusual trash – an unopened carton of microwave noodles. Randy Wright was a close second with a bashed-up lock, and Beth Leaf found $1.

Our next Adopt-a-Street cleanup will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8. We’re hoping the triple-digit temperatures will be long gone before our final cleanup of the year. The schedule for 2025 will be provided sometime in December.
