This Sunday, May 21st, immediately following our 9:00a.m. service, we will hold our Annual Congregrational Meeting. The meeting will include electing our 2023/2024 Council and will include other important decisions for Esperanza’s bright future.
Council Nominating Committe
As the nominating committee, we are presenting the following members for election to the Esperanza church council at the annual meeting on May 21st:
Chris Armfield – 1st term
Susan Brown – 2nd term
Jim Gisselquist – 2nd term
Beth Leaf – 2nd term
Chuck Yount – 2nd term
We approached the current council members who can be elected for a second two-year term and asked them to prayerfully discern their call to service and encouraging them to continue to represent us during this time of transition between pastors. Susan, Jim, Beth and Chuck were first elected in 2021 and all agreed. Chris Armfield was elected by the church council in March to fill out the term of Kelly Edwards after her resignation and Chris has also agreed. Susan, Jim, Beth and Chuck, if elected, will serve for two more years. Chris Armfield, if elected, will serve an initial 2-year term.
The following council members will continue serving the remainder of their current two-year terms ending in May 2024:
Craig Peck – 2nd term
Julie Valenzuela – 1st term
Paige Somero – 1st term
Michael Paradise – 2nd term

Congregational Meeting Information & Annual Report Below
Council President Jim Gisselquist & Esperanza Council encourages you to save the date and attend our Sunday, May 21, Annual Congregational Meeting. We will meet in person at 10:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary.
The main purpose of this meeting will be to elect church council members. There will be a few other issues that will be brought to your attention at that meeting – more details to follow later.
