Lent is a time of renewal – of faith, community and our commitment to our community. What better time to begin refreshing our sense of community than in-person worship? This coming Sunday that’s exactly what we will do, safely, as we launch weekly drive-in services.
A team of volunteers has been meeting on Zoom to plan these services, starting with what we learned from the setup and processes we used for Christmas Eve. We will host just one drive-in service each Sunday, and as the number of participants grows we can add an additional service. On the home page of our website, you will find a link to the form needed to reserve a spot. If you cannot attend in person, you will find a link to the YouTube live stream. Services will also be archived on the Worship page for viewing anytime.
The goal is to start bringing us back together, and if/when the numbers continue to improve we will look toward continuing to migrate our gatherings to the sanctuary. The pastor and team have focused on balancing our safety with the need to nourish a greater sense of community. Drive-in worship feels like a good step in the right direction. None of us envisioned it would be almost a year between regular in-person gatherings, but we can be thankful that we have navigated this dangerous time safely.
If you would like to join the team of volunteers that is preparing/planning the weekly services, we would love your help. Please contact Pastor Annemarie or Michael Paradise.
I’m looking forward to reconnecting during this spiritual season–maybe I will see you at drive-in worship!
