Raising the Roof on Our Habitat for Humanity House

Jim Gisselquist reports on the progress of out Habitat for Humanity project.

A man sitting on top of a wooden fenceWe’ve just completed our seventh week building the Jama family home. Construction is going very well as we have been blessed with many excellent volunteers and outstanding lunches provided by all four of the churches.

We began working on the roof and were able to complete a little over half last week. If you enjoy working on a roof (the sun, warm breezes and lovely scenery!), we encourage you to come out and help with the roofing. We plan on finishing it this coming Saturday, November 13. If you would rather do tasks on the ground, we’ll have plenty of work for you as well. Again, no skills or tools are needed: they will all be provided. Come out and have some fun building a great house for the Jama family.

A big thanks to the Farquhars for the excellent lunch that they provided on October 30.

Just a reminder: the start time this Saturday for volunteers will be 7:30 a.m. We hope to see many of you there. Contact John Gemma, John Fisher or Jim Gisselquist if you have any questions.
