Looking Good! South Phoenix Home Project Is Nearly Finished

The Southeast Valley Lutheran Coalition is nearing the completion of our 2024-2025 home building project in Habitat for Humanity’s Alta Vista neighborhood in south Phoenix. The coalition has built a single-story home with and for Nicole Herbert and her family.

The home is currently waiting for electrical power and flooring to be installed. Once that is done, our volunteers will return for the installation of window blinds and to do a final touch-up of paint.  A dedication ceremony will be scheduled once the home is complete; more information on that occasion will be coming.

This fall, the coalition will spend a few weeks working on a home remodel in Tempe, and in January 2026 a new home project will begin in Phoenix.

Many individuals and organizations deserve our thanks for another successful home project, These churches contributed by volunteering and/or financing the Herbert home: Desert Cross, Mountain View, Esperanza, Holy Trinity, Gold Canyon United Methodist Church, Christ Church Lutheran, Epiphany Lutheran, King of Glory Lutheran, Love of Christ Lutheran, and St. Luke Catholic Church. The adage that “many hands make for light work” still rings true!
