Lent is in full swing! This year during our mid-week Lenten services, we explore the theme Holy Spirit on the Move alongside Mountain View Lutheran Church. While we will both worship at our own places of worship, we will share brief videos each week made by Pastor Glenn Zorb, Pastor Chris Heller, Deacon Connie, and Pastor Sarah reflecting on the work of the Holy Spirit among us. Both Esperanza and Mountain View are in times of transition, so we hope this theme will help both our communities discern how the Spirit is moving. Each worship service, we will also read a story from scripture about the movement of the Holy Spirit and sing Holden Evening Prayer.
Prior to the mid-week Lenten worship services, a supper will be served 6:00-6:45 P.M. in the Fellowship Hall. This year, you are also welcome to a Discernment Gathering each Wednesday at 6:30-6:50 P.M. in the Sanctuary. We will be practicing centering prayer and then discussing any insights that come from our prayer time. In a culture both frenetic and distracted, centering prayer gives us an opportunity to simply stop and listen to the Holy Spirit.
