In 2022, Esperanza’s ministry resumes with the Kyrene Family Resource Center in Tempe, which supports basic needs for all Kyrene School District students, who are middle school and younger.
If needed, Kyrene families and employees may receive support from the center for immediate needs, such as gently used school clothing, food, hygiene supplies and school supplies.
Last year, Esperanza donated 631 pounds of food.
This year, Esperanza members once again are encouraged to donate non-perishable food and school supplies. Donations can be placed in the KFRC box in the Fellowship Hall. Peggy and Larry Hanson will deliver all donated food to the center on the second and fourth Tuesday each month.
Information on the school-supplies drive will be shared in July.
Current higher-priority food needs include spaghetti sauce, dry pinto beans, squeezable apple sauce, rice, jelly and peanut butter.
