Join Our Hard Working Property Team – Updates Included!

A person standing in front of a buildingOur hard working, back breaking, and dedicated property team members met this last week and will be meeting monthly moving forward.  We encourage participation so if you are interested please email [email protected].  Areas discussed are listed below.

1.) Offsite file storage – further investigation into potentially more affordable options is needed. There is no suggestion to relocate files onto campus. A plan for file purging will be presented to the Council in the upcoming months.

2.) Two storage containers next to COH PS – additional research is required regarding costs, contents, and alternatives. A request has been made to Joni for the current expenses of the two units. Randy and Michael will ask Jessica if it’s possible to inspect the contents of the PS unit and shed. Consolidation might be possible.

3.) Construction of a storage shed/building – The idea is to replace the storage units with a building. It is advised not to include electrical or air conditioning systems if a building is constructed, and to store only items that are not sensitive to heat. There is a potential recommendation to relocate the staging materials (metal frames and wood) to a new location, such as a school or theatre program.

4.) Water Sensor System – The main concept is a shut-off system (if it can learn our water usage) for the irrigation area, which would turn off water if a discrepancy is detected. Further research is necessary.

5.) Window Coverings/Blinds – It is recommended to consult with a church designer about colors and new blinds for the church, beginning with the sanctuary. Research will be conducted.

6.) The current project list maintained by Jim Gisselquist was reviewed and will be updated as some projects have progressed or been completed.

7.) Tom Vega provided an additional list from several years ago, which will continue to be reviewed; many of those projects have been finished.

8.) Green Team – A Green Team clean-up day is scheduled for October 11th at 7:30 am.

9.) The property team will meet on the first Thursday of each month in the choir room from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The next meeting is Thursday, October 2, 2025.

10.) Michael will post about the Green Team and Property Team to encourage more participation.

11.) Randy updated the team on the AC in the PS, and the group observed a dead tree near the main office/handicap parking that will need removal.

Thank you!
