Esperanza’s Outreach Team is partnering with Desert Cross Lutheran Church in Tempe to serve the Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program (I-HELP). This ministry provides shelter nights to homeless adults as well as a case management program that assists with finding employment.
We have committed to serving on these Tuesdays: July 25, Aug. 22, and Nov. 28. Linda Dickson, John Gemma, Shirley Huntley, and Molly Hurst will train with the serving team on June 27.
The experience includes providing dinner and making sack lunches for the following day. Volunteers are needed to prepare food, serve guests, and participate in mealtime activities. Macaroni and cheese, sausage, and ground beef are available for use for the meals. Sign-up will begin July 2 for those who can help on July 25.
