As a Christian nonprofit organization, Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is called to feed God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit. From FMSC’s website: “Every year, millions of children die from preventable causes such as pneumonia, diarrhea, malaria and undernutrition. Hunger is still causing nearly half of deaths in children under 5 years old. From this data, we estimate at least 6,200 children die each day from causes related to undernutrition. This is heartbreaking.”

Through late August 2022, FMSC has sent meals to 56 countries, including 2.75 million meals to Ukraine.

FMSC needs help packing meals. To respond to this need, a work event for Esperanza has been scheduled from 11:30 AM to 1:15 PM on Saturday, October 15. This is a great opportunity for our youth to get involved in responding to a global need. Youth 5 and older can participate with an adult. Forty-five work slots have been reserved for Esperanza. FMSC’s Phoenix metro packing location is at 1345 S. Alma School Drive, Mesa, 85210.

FMSC would also appreciate a donation (the day of the event would be fine) to help purchase meal ingredients.

If you would like to participate, there is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex or contact the office at 480-759-1515.

If you would like to carpool or have questions, please contact Larry or Peggy Hanson or the church office.
