Well Esperanza, you are in for another transition. Pastor Carol departed this week after a period of stellar service, including managing the transition into a virtual presence because of the horrible pandemic. Her ministry enabled the congregation to continue vital services and she also significantly helped me prepare for this next phase of ministry. Pastor Carol is joining her husband as co-pastors at New Spirit Lutheran Church in Tucson.

My tenure at Esperanza will include preparing you for a long-term pastor and the call committee is hard at work to find the perfect fit. While we journey together, we will continue to navigate our ministries through the pandemic.
The sermon on Sunday will focus on St. Paul’s letter to the Roman Church and his wise words about having hope and patience in troubling times. The timing for this scripture is perfect for us.
