Jim Gisselquist reports on the progress at our Habitat for Humanity house. Volunteers are needed Jan. 8 to install trim and doors!
While the next main build day on our Habitat for Humanity house will be Saturday, Jan. 8, Esperanza volunteers will be working on Tuesday, Jan. 4, getting things ready for the work on Saturday.
Volunteers will be installing trim and doors. If you’re available, please come out and help!
The house is going very well, Jim says, on schedule for a completion date of Feb. 19 and dedication on March 12.
Information on location and details.
Dec. 18 was the last volunteer build date of 2021. Drywall for the entire house was completed, making it ready for the tape-and-texture work to be done by an outside contractor prior to our next build date.
“We had an excellent crew of approximately 35 volunteers,” Jim reports. “They all did an excellent job of finishing the drywall, checking for proper screw placement and cleaning up the site.
“Thanks to all who have helped so far and we hope to see many of you, plus new volunteers as we enter into the final six weeks of the build.”
