On October 5, following church service, 30+ Esperanza volunteers assisted Sonoran Prevention Works (SPW) in packing 986 naloxone (Narcan) kits. Naloxone is a medication approved by the Food and Drug Administration designed to rapidly reverse an opioid overdose. SPW will distribute the kits to 10 outreach sites in six Arizona counties. SPW’s core focus is to support individual people through overdose education, naloxone and supply distribution, HIV and hepatitis C testing, and a harm reduction outreach program. Thank you to everyone that helped pack.
