We have delivered lots of good food and love to our health-care workers at the VA Hospital and their weekly meeting.
Jayne has advised that we can now discontinue the meal deliveries because conditions at the hospital have improved with regard to COVID-19 and there is improved access to food for the health-care workers.
I want to personally thank all of you for contributing not only your time and talents, but your hearts in providing so many meals. I have advised Jayne that, should the need arise, we would be glad to again offer our assistance.
From Jayne and the VA health-care workers: “You all are the light in what’s been a dark time.”
Since our congregation mission this year involves hunger, I would like to see how our group might be able to assist in some way with preparation of meals, sack lunches for the homeless, or any other creative ideas any of you might have.
Perhaps we can work with Pastor and Peggy and Larry on specific projects as they arise. Please keep that in mind as we move forward as a congregation. You are too valuable as a group to totally stop the momentum now!
Also, we still have about $200 in our VA Meal “kitty” that I thought maybe could be used for a hunger project of some type if no one objects.
Everyone was so generous with their time and personal contributions that the only money we used was for coffee and bagels for our December event at the VA.
Again, ideas from our hunger advocates are welcome!
It has been such a pleasure and an honor working with all of you to bring sunshine to folks that needed it during these difficult times. I constantly marvel at our Esperanza Church family and the way you step up.
You are all such thoughtful and prayerful warriors for good…
Many Blessings,
Chris Armfield
