Personalized River Stones to Commemorate Esperanza’s 35th Anniversary!

Inscribed Stones (engraved)

For 35 years, Esperanza has been grounded in hope. During the anniversary celebration, we will build a permanent marker that will remind future generations that our church was founded and built with hope. We plan to outline the word HOPE directly into the soil to the right of the sidewalk leading to the sanctuary from the west sidewalk arch. The letters that comprise HOPE will be filled in with stones inscribed with remembrances of our past, our names and our dreams for the future of our church.

All are welcome to contribute messages to be inscribed on the stones. You might offer up your own name, the names of family members, the names of loved ones who have passed, treasured memories, prayers, and dreams for the future.

Please prayerfully consider what your message will be. Stones will be engraved by a Maryland-based company, CourageInStones. You may contribute more than one stone if you wish.

We ask that you do not exceed 3 to 4 lines for each stone. The cost for a single stone is $8.00. Please drop a check, money order or cash at the church office or into the Sunday offering between now and February 23rd, 2025 (the engraved stones will be placed on Easter Sunday and during the anniversary celebration we will place non-engraved stones into the HOPE marker).

Please include the total amount for your household’s stone(s). Please make sure you indicate that the check, money order or cash is for the HOPE installation.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PROCESSIONAL, RECESSIONAL AND HOPE SIGN RIVER STONE PROJECT

Esperanza’s 35th Anniversary Celebration, A Future with Hope, will commence at Monte Vista School and the church driveway (for those who don’t want to or cannot process from the school) and will conclude in the front driveway post worship service with a lunch.

    The celebration will include:

 Processional from Monte Vista School
     Worship Service
 Recessional over The Bridge of Hope
 Stones placement in The HOPE sign (a new permanent fixture at Esperanza)
     Lunch
     Kiddo Activities

The procession will celebrate our beginning from the east of our sanctuary thanking Corpus Christi Catholic Church & Monte Vista School.

After worship service, we will recess across The Bridge of Hope, an activity focused on hoping and dreaming about our Esperanza future.

A walking path leading from Monte Vista School to the church will be installed inside our walls north east of the sanctuary and will continue in front of the church office then will lead to The Bridge of Hope and end at the HOPE sign.

At the end of The Bridge of Hope, each person will help fill the HOPE sign with a non-engraved stone into this permanent marker, HOPE (below rendering). HOPE will be installed just above the ground along our west entry sidewalk leading to the church sanctuary. On Easter Sunday we will replace the non-engraved stones with the engraved stones.

Over the coming weeks you will begin to see this project come to life on the campus by Eagle Scout Candidate Jackson Winslow.
