Pastor Carol Breimeier is our interim pastor, beginning Sunday, January 5 and serving until we call a new pastor.
This fall, Pastor Carol concluded her service at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Park Ridge, Illinois, where she was the campus pastor of this multisite church from 2012 to 2019. She formed her relationship with Redeemer when she and her husband Fred, also a pastor, served the church together from 2000 to 2007. In 2007, she joined the staff of the Chicago-area bishop, where she focused particularly on congregational renewal among the more than 200 congregations in the area. “That work was both challenging and rewarding,” she says.
As plans for Redeemer to become a multisite church came into focus in 2012, Pastor Carol felt drawn to be back in ministry there and in in January of that year the congregation called her. She and her husband moved to Tucson last month, as Pastor Fred began a new calling in prison ministry.
The couple have four grown sons, two in the Chicago area and two farther afield. She loves “reading a really good book, golfing with Fred, laughing, hiking, and doing crossword puzzles.” Favorite movies include “Bull Durham,” “To Be and To Have” and “Life Is Beautiful.” Recent reading includes “The Righteous Mind,” “The Divine Conspiracy,” “Radical Candor” and “In the Woods.”
