High School Youth Director O’Neil Filoon was born in Omaha, Nebraska and moved to Gilbert in 2002. He graduated from Highland High School in 2014, where he played football. At the University of Arizona, he studied physiology, biochemistry and religious studies and graduated in 2018.

O’Neil has taught Sunday School at Desert Cross Lutheran Church, and he continues to help at the Campfirmation summer camp for the ELCA churches.

He works full time at Northwest Hospital in Tucson in the emergency department, and commutes back on weekends to Iead Esperanza’s youth program. He plays guitar, follows college football and enjoys binge-watching Netflix.
